As you know the school holidays are coming up and I'm really excited to spent more time with my family.
Another name for the Southern Lights is 'Aurora Australis'. The name 'Aurora came from the Roman goddess of dawn or the Latin word of sunrise The Aurora was made from the sun, pieces of the sun would come off and come to Earth but it can't get through the atmosphere. But some little particles get in and when they touch the carbon dioxide in the air and make them glow up and then the Northern and Southern Lights are made. You can also see them from space and from space you can see it in a circle around the north and south pole.
It also happens on the other planets. When I watched a video it turns out the big blue storm on top of Jupiter are just Jupiter's Northern Lights. The Aurora's on the other planets are also at the south and the north of the planets. For our art we had to first rip a piece of paper to make the shape for the mountains. Next we had to dip a paint brush into some white acrylic paint and flick it onto the black paper to make stars. Then we used chalk pastels and colour the paper, then used our finger to push it up to make the Aurora. Next we used pail yellow a dotted on Matariki above the Aurora. Lastly we took the white paper off. Here's my art!

Have you learnt about Matariki or the Aurora's? If not I hope I was able to taught you something. I hope you like it! ;)
So that's it folks, See You! :3
