Debating - Phones in class

Debating - Phones in class

On Thursday 25th of July in literacy, we did a debate about if we should allow students at school to have phones in class while working or if we should have them at school but in a box hidden in the teacher's office. I was on the team about no phones in class. We won, here is a reflection on what happened.

Reflection on Debate

Both teams did pretty well but overall my team won. But I would have chosen to be on the other team hers why:

1. The teachers can just block the games, texting and social media on their phones

2. If students need to take photos of their work it will be easier than using their device to take the photos

3. Also, you can download all the school sites on your phone

4. Plus it's easier to carry around, you can just carry them around in your pocket

But then I also think that you shouldn't have phones in class here are my reasons why:

1. Phones are just a distraction in class if the teachers don't think about blocking sites like games and social media

2. Students would probably sneakily do things on them that they shouldn't

3. They can disturb other students who are trying to work

That's what I think. Please give me a comment if you think you should have phones in class or not. Thank you for reading.
