Hi everyone, this is my story that I have written in 1hr for a practice of Easstle story testing. ENJOY!
It was a hot summers day, it was my birthday, I was turning 12. I heard a whisper but no one was there. I looked around thinking it might be my mum. ‘Skye! Happy birthday!’ A women’s voice announced. ‘I believe you are going scuba diving today! You should go now you might be late.’ I love going to the beach and swimming in the sea, so I decided for my birthday present from myself I could go scuba diving. I could see all the fish and coral and much more living creatures in the sea. It would be a lifetime experience. I had always wanted to go scuba diving ever since I was young. So I walked on down all geared up in my wetsuit. I stopped at this small wooden shed that looked as though it would collapse down any moment.
‘You must be Skye.’ A deep voice boomed. I looked up and saw a man with barely any hair but a very bushy beard. ‘Yes, I am.’ I replied. He beckoned me to follow him, I followed him into the old shed. The man grabbed a pair of flippers, goggles and a snorkel. ‘Try these on.’ The man said passing me the gear. I tried them on, ‘They fit me perfectly.’
‘Good, come with me.’ He replied. We strolled down to the sand, ‘Do you know how to use the gear?’ He asked.
‘Well, I know how to use the goggles and the flippers.’ I replied. He sighed as if he didn’t like his job and wanted to quit. ‘You connect your snorkels here.’ He pointed to something on the goggle that looked like a handle. ‘Then put the goggles on and then you put the breathing tube in your mouth like as if you were sucking a dummy.’ I did what he said and we went down to the water and jumped in. ‘Now, you take a breath through the tube and go down, then once you’ve run out of air swim up to the surface and blow through your mouth to get the water out of the tube. If you can’t do that then take the tube out of your mouth and let the water come out.’ I took a breath and dived down. It was so majestical, it was like an underwater wonderland. There were fish everywhere and the coral looked beautiful. I was losing air so I swam up to the surface and tried to blow out the water but it didn’t work so I just took the tube out of my mouth and water came rushing out. I put it back in my mouth and dived down again, as I was looking at the beautiful fish something from behind nudged me I turned around thinking it was a shark, I was frightened it would be. But when I looked I say a little dolphin. I patted it on the nose and it jerked it’s head to its fin. I guess it wanted me to ride it. So I grabbed tight onto its fin and it pulled me along. It was so enjoyable and lively, but I was out of breath so I let go and swam to the surface. The dolphin looked back and followed me up. Someone tapped my shoulder and I turned to see a familiar face it was the man, ‘Your lesson time is over but you can stay out here until four o’clock when the lifeguards pack up.’ I nodded my head. I took a deep breath and dove down. I swam with the dolphin for quite sometime when I went back up I saw that the lifeguards were packing up. ‘Sorry I have to go.’ I said to the dolphin ducked his head down and lifted its tail up and waved it side to side. I chuckled and swam to shore.
It was the next day and I had so much fun with the dolphin that I decided to go back and play. I got my gear on and dove down I saw the dolphin but he had something around his neck. What could be around his neck? What was around his neck? The coral was a shade of grey, it didn’t look at all as colourful as yesterday. The dolphin swam up to me and lifted his tail to point at what was around his neck. It looked like plastic, but it couldn’t be. How did plastic get in the sea? I tried to pull it off but couldn’t. After what seemed like an hour I went up to breath for like the 100th time, the dolphin followed, ‘I’ll be back.’ I said. I had a good idea. I got the scuba diver from yesterday and asked him to help. He swam out with me to the dolphin and we tugged and tugged at the plastic for around half an hour. ‘You stay here I’m going to get some people to help.’ I explained as I swam to shore. I took my flippers off when I got to shore and ran across the beach and asked people to help. I got at least ten people to help we swam to the scuba diver and the dolphin and we all tugged. After another half an hour everyone started to give up, ‘Come guys we can’t just give up this dolphin has been wearing this piece of plastic for more than an hour and could choke and die any moment.’ I shouted.
‘But it’s getting late and we’ve been doing this for a long time and we need to go home to feed our family.’ Someone exclaimed.
‘I know but I bet you ten bucks we can do it this time if we use all our strength.’ I replied.
‘But we’ve used all our strength.’ Another person shouted.
‘Come on just one last try then you can go home.’ I shout. They all agree and we pull as hard as we can like there’s no tomorrow. Then all of a sudden we all fall backwards. I look in my hand, the plastics in it. I hold it up and we all cheer.
‘Good job everyone.’ I shout. The dolphin swims down, then jumps up in the air and does a huge flip into a belly flop splashing all of us. We all laugh. After that day everyone loves the dolphin and the beach is usually crowded with people coming to she the dolphin which is now named Splash.

Bricks Goal
Hey Readers,
I hope you all had a great holiday! For maths this week we are working on our bricks so we can get to a higher level.
The bricks I'm working on at the moment are bricks 18, 21 and 22. Which means I have to work on multiplication up to 10, 100 and 1000, division rules for 3 and 9, and factors to 100 and primes.
I will do my best to work on this and do it each day when I don't have any sport. I will do it for at least half an hour so I can improve my maths skills and get better at maths.
Do you have a goal for this term?
Bye!
